Offshore Hiring Cost Index

Compare monthly rates for 41 roles across 8 countries, and open any band for its annual breakdown.

Average monthly cost of a full-time offshore hire in each of 8 countries, averaged across 41 roles — Remoteria salary-by-country data
Average band per country, taken across all 41 priced roles — not a rate for any single role. Poland averages $4,261 a month against Pakistan at $1,706. Source: Remoteria salary-by-country model.

How much does it cost to hire offshore staff in 2026?

The 328 country × role bands below run from $500 to $10,500 a month for a full-time hire, and where a role lands inside that range is decided by country and seniority rather than by the job title. Offshore hiring here means employing a full-time remote professional who works for one company from another country — not offshore energy, marine, or rig work, which shares the word and nothing else.

A band is a monthly range, not a single price. The bottom of a band is a junior hire in that country and the top is a senior one, which is why the range on a single row is often wider than the gap between two neighbouring countries. Pick the country first if timezone overlap or compliance regime is your constraint; pick the seniority band first if budget is.

These bands are the salary line only. If you are still deciding whether the model fits at all, the pillar guide covers what offshore staffing costs to run as an ongoing arrangement — recruitment, vetting, local payroll, account management and replacement — rather than what a single hire is paid.

Why the same role costs more in one country than another

The country factor, not the role, sets most of the gap. Poland is the priciest country in this matrix at an average of $4,261 a month across its priced roles, and Pakistan is the cheapest at $1,706 — a 2.5× difference that tracks local wage levels and statutory employment costs rather than skill.

The country multiple is close to constant across roles. Every one of the 41 roles here sits between 2.5× and 2.5× from cheapest country to priciest, because the matrix applies one country factor per country to a base band per role. Read it as a modelled comparison built to be consistent across 328 bands, not as 328 independently observed placements — the honest version of that distinction is worth more to you than a table that pretends otherwise.

Why some bands start below $800 a month

Some bands in this matrix open under $800 a month — junior hires in the lowest-cost countries, in admin, support, finance, and writing roles. Remoteria's own engagements start at $800/month, so the floor of those bands is a market rate you can benchmark against rather than a rate we place at. Use this page to compare countries and roles; use the pricing page for what an engagement with us actually costs.

What is included in an offshore monthly rate?

The rate is fully loaded, so one monthly figure covers the hire and the apparatus around them and there is no separate employer-of-record invoice arriving later. What that single figure absorbs:

What is deliberately not included

Four things stay on your side of the line, and every one of them is a cost buyers routinely forget when they compare a monthly rate against a US salary: software licences and seats, hardware beyond the standard setup, media and ad budgets the hire spends on your behalf, and your own management time. That last one is the expensive one, and it is the input the break-even below turns on. The full list of hidden offshore costs goes through each in order.

How offshore rates compare with US pay

The role-by-role comparison against US pay lives in the salary index, which publishes the savings-versus-US-median table and the method behind it. This page deliberately does not restate those figures: one page should own that comparison, and duplicating it here would split the answer across two URLs without improving either.

At what point does offshore stop saving money?

Offshore hiring stops saving money at the point where the management overhead it adds costs more than the wage gap it closes — and that point is a property of your team, not of the rate card, which is why nobody can publish it as a single number. Every comparison page in this category publishes a savings percentage instead, because a percentage is the same for every reader and a break-even is not.

Four inputs decide it, and you already have three of them:

  1. 1. The wage gap. Your fully loaded US cost for the role minus the band on this page.
  2. 2. Management hours added. Extra hours per week your team spends on briefing, review, and coordination that a local hire would not need.
  3. 3. What those hours cost. The fully loaded hourly cost of whoever spends them — usually your most expensive person, which is what makes this input dominate.
  4. 4. Timezone drag. Decisions that wait a day for an answer, priced as the delay they cause rather than as hours.

Multiply inputs two and three, add a figure for four, and compare the total against input one. The gap closes fastest on senior roles, where the wage difference narrows and the coordination burden grows at the same time — which is the honest argument against offshoring your hardest role first. Run your own numbers in the savings calculator.

Does the rate compress from your first hire to your fifth?

Remoteria does not publish a volume discount, so every band on this page is a per-hire rate at any headcount. Treating it that way is the safe assumption for a budget: if volume pricing matters to your plan, raise it on the intro call rather than reading it into a table that does not claim it. What does compress with the second and third hire in the same country is your own overhead — one payroll route, one set of local norms already learned, one onboarding pattern reused — and that saving lands on your side of the ledger rather than on the invoice.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to hire offshore staff per month?

Offshore hiring costs $500 to $10,500 per month per full-time hire across the 41 roles and 8 countries priced on this page, fully loaded. Where a role lands inside that range depends far more on the country and the seniority band than on the job title.

Why do some rates on this page start below Remoteria’s $800/month floor?

The table shows market rate bands by country and role, including junior bands in the lowest-cost countries. Remoteria’s own engagements start at $800/month, so the bottom of a band is not always a rate we place at. Use the table to compare countries and roles against each other; use the pricing page for what an engagement with us costs.

Is the monthly rate fully loaded, or are there separate invoices?

The rate is fully loaded. It covers salary, local payroll and statutory employment costs, and account management, billed as one monthly figure with no separate employer-of-record invoice. Software licences, hardware refreshes beyond the standard setup, paid ad budgets and contractor overflow stay on your side of the line.

Why is every role about the same multiple cheaper in the lowest-cost country?

This matrix applies one country factor to every role. Poland runs about 2.5× Pakistan on the average band, and that same multiple holds within a rounding step for each of the 41 roles. It is a modelled comparison, not 328 independently observed placements.

How do these rates compare with US salaries for the same role?

The role-by-role comparison against US pay lives in the offshore salary index, which publishes the savings-versus-US-median table and its method. This page is the router: pick a country and a role here, then open that band for experience tiers, timezone overlap and the US comparison for that specific role.

Does the rate drop if we hire several people in the same country?

Remoteria does not publish a volume discount, so treat the bands on this page as per-hire rates regardless of headcount. If volume pricing matters to your plan, raise it on the intro call rather than assuming it from the table.
